This site is dedicated to the short-lived
series, Downtown. It starred Michael Nouri and Mariska Hargitay.
 The
premise of the program was that, as punishment for breaking the rules,
Det. John Forney (Nouri) was assigned four parolees. He was supposed
to help them find jobs, but they kept involving themselves in his cases.
His parolees were Jesse Smith (Hargitay); Harriet Conover (Millicent Martin),
convicted of land fraud; Dennis Shotoffer (Robert England) who impersonated
people; and Terry Coraso (Blair Underwood), a pickpocket. Lt. Dave
Kiner (David Paymer) was John’s boss on the force and Delia Bonner (Virginia
Capers) was the social worker supervising his involvement with the parolees.
The parolees all lived in Harriet’s rundown mansion.
